Every summer, Florentines play the game of Calcio Storico. And you definitely can’t miss it! This ancient game combines soccer and rugby and is a real symbol of Florentine tradition and pride, with teams from different neighborhoods competing in period costumes in front of enthusiastic crowds in Piazza Santa Croce.
